Brugmansia sanguinea is a large, fast-growing shrub with soft branches and large, velvety leaves. Native to high-altitude regions of the Andes at elevations of 2,000–3,000 m, from Colombia to Bolivia, this newly discovered and spectacular form produces masses of long, trumpet-shaped flowers in deep red to pinkish-red tones. It makes an outstanding ornamental plant and adapts well to a range of warm-temperate climates.
