Lobelia laxiflora var. angustifolia (Narrow-leaved Sierra Madre Lobelia) is a woody-based, rhizomatous perennial native to Mexico and Arizona, typically growing 60–90 cm tall. It bears slender, dark green foliage and, from late spring through summer, produces distinctive tubular, semi-pendent red and yellow “candy corn” flowers. Best grown in sun to partial shade, it prefers well-drained soil and is hardy to approximately −5 °C.
